1. The commission ladder

Your rate scales with how many of your referrals close in a given month — measured by when the lead came in, not when the customer pays.

Jobs 1–10 in a month

+ retroactive back-pay on the first 10. Once the 10th lead closes (even months later), we cut a back-pay e-transfer on the difference.

Worked example. You send 12 leads in May, all averaging $6,000. The first 9 close in May–June and pay you 2.5% as they go ($1,350 total). In late July the 10th finally pays — that triggers the bonus tier on the whole May cohort. We back-pay an extra 2.5% on the first 9 ($1,350) plus 5% on jobs 10, 11, 12 ($900). Your May cohort total: $3,600.

2. How leads get tagged to you

Anyone who clicks your referral link is tagged to you for the next 180 days. First click wins — if a customer touches another partner's link first, they're not yours.

✓Your main link — copied from the Share tab. Use this for general handoffs.
✓Sub-links per channel — make a different one for email blasts, video bios, brochure handouts, etc. We tag every lead by channel so you see what works.
✓Brochure auto-tags itself — printed brochure QR codes carry src=brochure-print automatically. No setup needed.
✗No retroactive claims. If a customer arrives without your link and tells our team you sent them, we can manually attribute — but only if you can show contemporaneous proof (text, email) and only before we issue the final invoice.
✗No self-referrals. Your own home, immediate-family rentals, or properties you co-own don't count. (One-time courtesy on family is fine if you flag it before the quote.)

3. Your toolkit

4. How and when you get paid

Customer pays final invoice in full. Not the deposit, not progress payments — the final invoice. Money in our account.

Within 3 business days, we send your commission via your chosen method — e-transfer (default) or direct deposit.

Earned at 2.5% immediately. If your monthly cohort hits 10 paid jobs later, we cut a back-pay e-transfer for the extra 2.5%.

If a job is refunded or charged back, the commission is reversed (offset against your next payout). No clawbacks on jobs that close clean — only on jobs that don't.

Annual T4A if you earn $500+ in a year. We file with CRA and post your copy in your Documents tab.

5. Tax handling

Plain-language version of what CRA expects from a referral relationship.

If you're GST/HST registered: we add 5% GST on top of every commission. You receive commission + GST; we claim the GST back as an input tax credit. Net cost to either of us is unchanged. Tell us your GST number on the Account tab and we'll handle it automatically.

If you're not registered (small supplier under $30k/yr): no GST charged. You receive your commission flat. You're still required to declare it as self-employment income on your personal taxes — that's between you and the CRA.

T4A slip: if you earn $500+ in commissions in a calendar year, we issue a T4A and file it with CRA by Feb 28 of the following year. You'll find your copy in the Documents tab once it's filed. Required from us by law — no exceptions.

PST: BC PST does not apply to referral commissions. Nothing to worry about there.

Commission ladder

Resets the 1st of every month. Hit 10 closed jobs in a month and the entire month steps up to 5% — retroactively.

Counter resets on the 1st. Only fully-paid invoices count toward the ladder.
