Partner questions
When do I get paid?
After the customer pays their final invoice in full. Direct deposit or e-transfer — your choice. Zero risk to anyone — we only pay out money that's already in our account. The dashboard shows what's pending and what's cleared in real time.
Is there a cap on how much I can earn?
No cap. Flat 10% on every closed job — refer one or refer fifty, the rate is the same.
What counts as a successful referral?
A referral becomes a paid commission when the client signs a contract, the job is completed, and they pay their final invoice in full. At that point you earn 10% of that final invoice.
What if a referral takes months to close?
Attribution windows are 180 days. If someone clicks your link or mentions you when they contact us, you're credited for 6 months — even if they don't book right away.
Can I refer my own clients or myself?
Yes — as long as it's real work, it counts. Don't try to stack commissions on friends/family as fake leads; we'll spot it and offboard you. But genuine referrals to your own clients? All yours.
What's the tax treatment?
Referral commissions are self-employment income. You'll receive a T4A at year end for any partner earning $500+. Consult your accountant for specifics to your situation.

You apply, we review
Every application is read personally by us. Within 3-5 business days you'll get an email — either approved with your unique referral link, or a quick "not right now" with a reason. No silence, no form letters.

If approved, you get a unique trackable link
Looks like procoatpainting.ca/?ref=your-name + a short share form + a QR code. Anyone who clicks it from any device gets 180 days of attribution — even if they don't book on the first visit, you stay credited for 6 months.

Send leads however you want
Text the link, email it, post it, share the QR at open houses, print it on your business card. The only rule: don't spam strangers. Real recommendations to real people only — anything that looks like commercial bulk solicitation will void the credit.

10% commission, paid only when the customer pays
When your referred customer's final invoice is paid in full, you earn 10% of the total job. We pay it out by e-transfer or direct deposit within 3 business days of the customer's payment clearing. No clawbacks on jobs that close clean. No payouts on cancelled or refunded jobs.

Tax stuff — we keep it clean
If you earn $500 or more in commissions in a calendar year, we'll send you a T4A and report it to CRA. You're responsible for any income tax owed on it — we recommend you talk to your accountant about whether to register for GST. We don't withhold or deduct anything.

What disqualifies a referral
- Self-referral abuse (referring your own jobs as if they were someone else's)
- Fake or duplicate leads (same person, multiple "referrers")
- Bulk spam channels (cold-DM list, scraped emails, paid lead resellers)
- Cancellations, chargebacks, or refunds — commission only triggers on paid-in-full jobs

Either side can leave, anytime
You can stop sending referrals at any time, no notice needed. We can deactivate your link if the program doesn't fit (fraud, spam, brand mismatch). Any commissions earned before deactivation still get paid out as the corresponding jobs close — we don't keep money you've already earned.
